How It Works

To get a glimpse of PawFoods, visit the website where you’ll find detailed descriptions of what its food contains right on the homepage.

To shop with PawFoods, just click the “Order Now” button, which will take you to the product page. Here you’ll find the 3 recipes PawFoods offers, in addition to the option to mix and match flavors. PawFoods’ current dog food options are Steak Sensation, Chicken Feast, and Under The Sea.

Once you make your choice, you’ll have to select your dog’s weight range to determine the price for your batch of meals. The sizes catered for are:

  • X-small (under 15lbs)
  • Small (15lbs-25lbs)
  • Medium (25lbs-50lbs)
  • Large (50lbs-80lbs)
  • X-large (80lbs-100lbs)

For smaller dogs of up to 25lbs, the food comes in boxes of 56 meals, while larger dogs get 28 meals. Assuming you give your dogs 2 meals a day, 56 meals should last 4 weeks and 28 should last 2 weeks. Each meal comes with a dental treat to keep your dog’s teeth healthy and prevent bad breath.

At this point, you have the option to subscribe to receive the food every 2, 4, or 8 weeks for small dogs. For larger dogs, the options are weekly, or every 2 or 4 weeks. You can save 5% when you subscribe to Auto-renew.

You’ll also have to enter your dog’s name before adding your items to your cart. All orders come with free shipping in the continental United States, and local pickup is available in Orange County, California.

PawFoods tries its best to get your dog’s food to you in 1-3 business days. However, meals are only shipped Monday-Wednesday.

To prepare PawFoods’ dog food, take it out of the fridge and leave it on the counter for about 30 minutes. If you’re in a hurry, microwave for 20-30 seconds until the food reaches room temperature. Always aim to have 3-4 meals in the fridge so you’re ready for every meal.

Food Variety

While PawFoods has only 3 food options, you should be able to find something for your dog as they are all very different.

Steak Sensation is a combination of real sirloin steak, organic chia seeds, eggs, lentils, kale, and blueberries. Chicken Feast has a similar recipe, except with chicken instead of beef and a touch of butter squash. Finally, Under The Sea contains wild-caught salmon, cod, haddock, chia seeds, eggs, broccoli, and blueberries.

This combination of ingredients results in meals that are rich in many essential nutrients, such as proteins, fibers, healthy fats, antioxidants, and a variety of vitamins and minerals. In order to preserve nutrients, PawFoods only gently steams the foods before cooling and freezing. All PawFoods’ food is also gluten-free.

Additional Products Available

In addition to nutritious meals, PawFoods also offers healthy dog treats. As with the food, there are 3 options to choose from: Salmon Bites, Minty Paws, and Fruity Paws.

All three flavors come in the form of baked treats made with natural organic ingredients such as oats, eggs, celery, pumpkin, coconut oil, and a blend of herbs.

Furthermore, each treat is only 5 calories so you can give them multiple times a day without worrying about weight gain. They’re also firm and crunchy to help keep your dog’s teeth clean and protect from plaque buildup.

What Pet Parents Have To Say About PawFoods

Currently, there aren’t many user reviews on PawFood’s site, but those given so far have been very positive. Here’s a look at what customers have to say:

“My pupster loved the food. He can be a picky eater sometimes but he was all about the chicken feast. It's well-packaged and it even comes with a treat!” - Araceli C

“I had tried another very popular fresh dog brand for my pup but it upset his stomach terribly! I decided to switch him over to PawFoods and it's the best decision a dog owner can make.” - Victor V

Conclusion

PawFoods offers a great service for dog owners who value their pets’ health. Its key strengths lie in the quality of the meals—they're organic, gluten-free, and full of nutrients. Additionally, PawFoods provides a subscription service that's easy to use and delivers straight to your door. The added dental treats are a thoughtful touch showing PawFoods’ dedication to your dog’s wellbeing.
