What’s Unique About Pet Treater?

Pet Treater is one of the few pet box subscription services that offers boxes for both dogs and cats. This is a big bonus for cat parents or for pet parents who have both furry friends frolicking around their homes. Pet Treater lets you create a separate profile for each pet, and you can get personalized boxes for them all.

Pet Treater also has some truly creative toys and treats in these boxes, not your typical stuff. So, your pet buddies will enjoy a wide range of accessories, toys, or munchables each month.

Pet Treater is also a partner of the Brown Dog Foundation, an organization that helps support animal support services and non-profit organizations. Pet Treater donates and supports animal shelters across the country. For every box that is purchased, Pet Treater donates money, treats, toys, blankets, and more to a shelter and pets in need. You can even reach out to Pet Treater to suggest a particular shelter or organization. This is a really nice touch because you can make a meaningful difference to a shelter you know or animals in need, in general, every time you order a box.

How it Works: Subscriptions & Ordering

Ordering from Pet Treater is a bit more involved than other pet box subscription services. The company really wants to get your pet boxes just right, so the questionnaire is a bit more detailed than other brands. We view this as a good thing. It means your boxes are going to be really well-suited for your dog, and not just a generic one-size-fits-all type of box.

Here’s how the ordering process works:

  • Choose which type of pet you want a box for and fill out the short order form (how big is your dog, do they have allergies).
  • You can specify allergies such as peanut, chicken, or grain sensitives, and Pet Treater will customize your pet boxes to ensure optimal health and safety.
  • Pick your subscription option, enter payment details, and confirm your order.
  • If you haven’t done so now, Pet Treater will invite you to create an account (this is free).
  • Here’s where things get interesting. Pet Treater will ask you to fill out a short pet profile for your pet so that it can get to know them better. Profile questions include things like what types of foods your pet likes and any specifications you want to include.

And that's it. Your first box will be shipped immediately upon ordering. It's worth noting that the first month's box is a Welcome Pack. After that, you'll receive a more detailed box that fits with the answers to your profile questions.

What’s Inside Your Box?

The exact contents of your Pet Treater vary from month to month. Each month, you'll get a combination of treats, toys, grooming supplies, and pet accessories. There are also differences between dog and cat packs, obviously. The boxes will contain treats and toys that are relevant for your pet. Dog and cat packs come with a combination of 3-4 hand-selected items.

Treats are generally USA and Canadian-made only. Pet Treater makes a point of specifically stating that these treats will never come from China.

Dog and cat packs are available in standard size or deluxe packages. The deluxe boxes come with 5-8 items instead of the standard 3-4. Pet parents can also opt for a treats or toys only box.

Pet Treater Pet Parent Testimonials

This was Aspen’s first time ever receiving goodies in the mail. He knew it was for him before I even did. I was pleased with the cost of the bag, given the items that we received! It had a variety of snacks and play toys. He loved everything! - Bekah D.

Fun toys in each box that my cats love! Each box has great, healthy treats they enjoy! Always prompt delivery! Definitely worth the low monthly fee! - Rebecca

We love pet treaters! Our dog Snow is always excited to receive his box and loves the toys (he always like them better than the thousand of toys he already has), the treats are very good too and we have a picky eater! - Emmanuelle A.

Love this service! My cat Allie is rarely interested in the toys I buy her... she loves this subscription!!! The first package had a cat nip bag and Allie still sleeps with that. - Becca
